Okay, so I've been neglecting this site for far too long. I'm sorry for that. But I'm gonna look good and hard (I didn't giggle!) for two poems to submit for a vote.

Okay, I have one. "The Woman of Burbury Bog" by Fade ElBrunen

As for the other, I'm going to search a bit more.

I have picked my first nomination:
"Storms of Fate" by wittybartender.  Forum: Royal Orchard
------------------------------------------------
As we can now nominate one of our own:
"A Pioneer's Home." extended version by Ted Cherry. Forum: Village Green.

I'm reading, I'm reading, ok, so I'm always running late, at my funeral I'm gonna request that my pall bearers run my casket to the front of chapel about 18.5 minutes after the start time, so don't leave without me

Ok, Graeme, how did this turn out? I noticed we have far fewer submissions than we have active poets/writers on the site. Any chance of extending the deadline?

Jann, you can still nominate your own poem, and it automatically goes in.
Bill, come up with something for me. This hasn't worked, with very few noms, and I didn't have the time to push it along.
Let me know what you think is a good way of doing it.

If no one is willing to nominate work, you may need to appoint a committee to accomplish the task of gathering worthy works to be voted on for inclusion. Otherwise, it may be neccessary to close the nominations altogether. But make a general announcement first that you have a definite closing date in mind. It may accelerate the process...or it may be ignored again. To be honest, Graeme, this site is such an easy going place that very few people feel pressured to respond quickly to any announcements. Good on one hand, maybe not so good on the other.

OK. I'll sleep on that Bill, and decide tomorrow.

Thanks, I agree.

Dear Enaid...please tell us all what you agree with? Graeme's last post on this thread  was dated in 2007...do you agree with his statement now or then?

Such a long time ago...

It makes me miss Carol's thoughtfulness when I read her old posts...and these threads.

I agree too!
Or
I agree to agree,
if that's alright with you!

As regards an Anthology,

It appears the best laid plans of mice and Kings
ends with some intentions that mean not a thing!

There is a great deal here that began with the best intentions. Be that as it may, it's probably best to wait to pronounce death on something until it truly is.
